Our Materials

Full Grain Leather

Our handbags are made with full grain leather. This type of leather is minimally processed and utilizes the entire thickness of an animal's hide. It is known for its durability and beautiful aging process, developing a patina over time.

The tanning process converts raw animal skin to leather. We exclusively use leather that has been vegetable tanned, a process that uses organic plant matter. Compared to the quicker and cheaper method of tanning with Chromium, it is safer for tannery workers and more environmentally friendly on our land.

Our leather is sourced from U.S. family farms and ranches that practice regenerative agriculture. It is fully traceable, from the land the animals were raised on to where their hides were tanned.

All orders include a certificate from our supplier verifying where the leather from their purchase was sourced from, guaranteeing the authenticity of our claims. This commitment to traceability underscores our dedication to a clean and radically transparent supply chain.

We are proud to work with Other Half Processing for all leather sourcing. OHP are leaders in buying and selling traceable hides/leather and other byproducts from regenerative livestock in the United States.

Brass Hardware

We use top-quality brass hardware in our handbags, renowned for its resistance to corrosion, rust, and tarnishing. This ensures that our hardware not only remains strong and durable, but also maintains its aesthetic appeal over time. Brass hardware provides a perfect blend of functionality and elegance. By choosing brass, we commit to delivering products that are both enduring and visually striking.

We source from Buckleguy, an American supplier and manufacturer known for their premier hardware.

Secondary Components

All other materials have been carefully selected for superior craftsmanship.

We use Fil Au Chinois Lin Cable, a 100% corded waxed linen. This natural fiber is durable and biodegradable.

For burnishing, we use Tokonole, a water-based and non-toxic agent. It provides a smooth and polished finish to leather edges.

For adhesive, we use Fiebing's Leathercraft Cement, a non-flammable and non-toxic glue.

Regenerative Agriculture

All leather used for our products are natural, by-product materials of the meat industry, sourced directly from regenerative farms.

Regenerative farming seeks to better the shape of the land it utilizes, ensuring that future generations will also be able to meet their needs. The focus is to restore rather than exploit Earth's natural resources and inhabitants. These farms encourage biodiversity and soil health and fertility. Rotational grazing is utilized to promote plant recovery and prevent land degradation, a very important issue in the world of modern agriculture. Precious land is drying up and a large part of it has to do with human activity.

Healthy soil means more carbon being sequestered into the earth, water infiltration, and increased nutrient and life activity within the soil. The outcome of healthy soil and plants is nutrient dense food raised on this land.

Regenerative agriculture limits or eliminates the use of synthetic pesticides, fertilizers, and other harmful chemicals. There are high standards for farmer, rancher, and animal welfare. Animals are grass fed and able to free range as they are intrinsically meant to do, rather than confined in tight indoor spaces where disease is likely to spread. No genetically modified organisms, antibiotics or growth hormones are used. This results in healthier meat and dairy for consumption.

Healthy soil=healthy animals=healthy consumers.
